Serving Adults with Disabilities in Round Rock, TX and Across Texas (Virtual Therapy Available)

Adult Speech Therapy Services

At Above & Beyond Communication, we provide personalized speech therapy services to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Whether your loved one needs help expressing themselves, swallowing safely, or building independence through AAC, we’re here to help - with care, expertise, and proven strategies.

  • Speech: We help adults speak more clearly and confidently by working on specific speech sounds that may be hard to pronounce.

Language: From understanding and following directions to expressing thoughts and ideas, we support both receptive and expressive language skills for real-life communication.

  • We evaluate and provide training for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices - helping non-speaking or minimally verbal adults communicate using a high-tech speech-generating device.

  • We address vocal quality, pitch, and volume for adults experiencing voice changes due to medical conditions, overuse or neurological differences.

We are trained in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT LOUD®) - An evidence-based voice program designed specifically to help individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions aimed to improve volume, clarity and confidence.

  • We help adults who have difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) eat and drink more safely and comfortably, with personalized treatment and mealtime strategies.

We are trained in McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP) - A structured, intensive swallowing therapy program that focuses on rebuilding strength and safety for eating through evidence-based exercises.

  • Our therapy aims to help adults who stutter learn strategies that improve communication confidence.

  • We support communication and thinking skills like memory, attention, organization and problem-solving in patients with Aphasia or other neurological differences such as a traumatic brain injury or stroke.

What else should we know about teletherapy?

Sessions must be done in a private, quiet location with a stable internet connection. Therapy cannot take place in public areas (like a coffee shop or in a car), as this is not allowed by insurance and does not support effective therapy.
